Arsenal and Leeds United News: Leeds United have completed the signing of Austrian defender Max Wöber from Red Bull Salzburg at a bargain fee that could reach up to €20 million including add-ons. Max Wöber started his career at Rapid Vienna before he was scouted by Ajax Amsterdam in 2017. From there, he moved on to Sevilla in 2019 on a loan deal (initially).
He made his big move to Red Bull Salzburg for a fee of €9.6 million, which back then was a record in the Austrian league. Max Wöber played for Salzburg for three years, winning the league and cup double for three consecutive years. The 24-year-old will now look to make a name for himself in the Premier League.
Leeds United get Max Wöber
Wöber will now reunite with his former teammates Brenden Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen and his former head coach, Jesse Marsch. He can make his debut in Sunday’s FA Cup third-round tie at Cardiff.
Leeds United are currently placed 14th on the points table with 16 points from 16 matches. Although they are clear of the relegation battle and do not need to worry about that as of now, Wöber’s signing will definitely help them improve their defensive performance, which will ultimately improve their position on the points table.

Arsenal wants to sign Mykhaylo Mudryk
In other news, Arsenal are now in the endgame in their efforts to acquire Ukrainian midfielder Mykhaylo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk. The Gunners have made the youngster their top priority, and the player himself is keen on joining the Londoners.
After their first bid was rejected by Shakhtar, Arsenal has made an improved second bid for a £44.2 million fixed fee plus add-ons. Shakhtar will now consider the offer and make a decision as soon as possible. Personal terms will not be an issue as Mudryk has made his intentions clear from the very beginning.

In fact, he has also started posting stories about Arsenal’s matches on his Instagram account. Arsenal’s London rivals Chelsea are also said to be interested in the midfielder. They will get into the bidding if Arsenal are unable to make a proper offer to Shakhtar. However, Mudryk’s priority is Arsenal.
Arsenal are currently the table-toppers in the Premier League with 43 points in 16 matches. They now have a clear 7-point lead over second-place Manchester City and are serious contenders for the title. Mudryk’s signing will add to their squad’s depth. With Gabriel Jesus returning to the squad soon, Arsenal are the favorites to lift the trophy this season.
