Jamie O’Hara wasn’t pleased with a Tottenham Hotspur defending the club and how fans should be ‘careful for what they wish for’ as the cries against Daniel Levy grow.
Tottenham are heading for a non-European finish for the first time in over a decade and many believe that the blame lies in the path of their under-fire chairman, Daniel Levy.
The English businessman was in attendance on Saturday as Spurs, despite taking a 1-0 lead, suffered a 3-1 defeat to Brentford, with O’Hara telling talkSPORT that the running of the club is ‘shambolic’.
As of this moment, Spurs are without a manager, they don’t have a sporting director in the boardroom and their star striker’s contract will have 12 months left to run in the summer – Alan Shearer has now changed his mind about Harry Kane’s future.
The signs suggest that things will get worse before they better, with Feyenoord coach, Arne Slot, who recently won the Eredivisie, the man who is now being heavily linked with the manager’s job.
But, for O’Hara, you can bring in whoever you want, unless there are major changes upstairs, then things will only continue to stagnate out on the pitch, as one Spurs supporter, since the 1950s, told the former midfielder that they have the best in class, when it comes to the stadium, and fans should be ‘careful for what they wish for’ because it’s not easy getting a buyer with wads of cash, O’Hara issued this response.
“I can assure you, if Tottenham went up for sale properly and Joe Lewis come out and said ‘we are going to sell the football club’, then there would be a lot of billionaires that would buy it,” said O’Hara.
“You have got concerts there. Formula 1. You have NFL matches there. It’s one of the most sought-after stadiums in the world.
“It doesn’t matter who you appoint if the mentality of the football club is just to make business opportunities better for the football club, instead of football ones. We sacked the only manager who wins trophies for us. You sacked him a week before the cup final. What does that say about the mentality of Daniel Levy?
“It just gets to the point where you are sick and tired of it. I am sorry, I am losing my head a little here. You are going on. I am not getting away from Daniel Levy being a fantastic businessman. Brilliant one, for what he has created. Amazing. He has taken Tottenham to another level, in that sense.
“But, in terms of football at the way he runs the football club, on the football side of things. It is shambolic.”

Alongside Tottenham’s absent owner, Joe Lewis, there is no way Levy leaves Tottenham anytime soon.
As mentioned above, from a business standpoint, everything is top-notch, but the rest can rightfully be questioned.
But, as long as that side of the game is ticking for Levy and Co., then in 12 months time, it wouldn’t be a surprise if fans are still crying and screaming about the same issues because something major has to happen for new owners to come in.
