Newcastle United are reportedly serious about signing Ferran Torres from Barcelona in the summer transfer window.
Football Transfers have reported that Newcastle United are now “in internal discussions” over signing Ferran Torres from Barcelona to replace Allan Saint-Maximin in the summer transfer window.

The report has added that Newcastle could sign the former Manchester City forward for €35 million (£30.38 million).
Although Torres – described as “brilliant” by City manager Pep Guardiola in May 2021 – wants to stay at Barcelona, a move to Newcastle and the chance to play in the Premier League could change his mind, according to the report.
Ferran Torres a potential upgrade on Allan Saint-Maximin for Newcastle United
In our view, Ferran Torres would be a better player for Newcastle United than Allan Saint-Maximin has been and would be an upgrade on the winger.
Now, we know that Saint-Maximin is a very good dribbler who can really excite the fans.
But the French winger does not have enough end product.
After all, the 26-year-old has scored one goal and given five assists in 1050 minutes in the Premier League for Newcastle this season.
Torres is a versatile player who can operate out wide or down the middle as a striker.
And he is 23, younger than Saint-Maximin.
Torres has scored four goals and given two assists in 13 La Liga starts for Barcelona this season.
The Barcelona no. 11 scored three goals and provided one assist in five UEFA Champions League matches for Xavi’s side this campaign.
