The latest Leicester City news as eyes will be on events at Goodison Park aswell as those at the King Power Stadium as three teams battle it out for Premier League safety
Everton will be without striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin as well as full-back Nathan Patterson against Bournemouth due to injury, boss Sean Dyche has confirmed.
The striker had been a major doubt for the Toffees for the vital clash at Goodison Park which will have an impact on Leicester City and Leeds United. Should Everton drop points, then Dean Smith’s men will have the chance to climb above them and out of the relegation zone with a win, Leeds could also climb above them should they overcome Tottenham at Elland Road.
In what is bad news for Everton, it has now been confirmed that Calvert-Lewin has not recovered in time for the weekend after leaving the pitch with injury in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Wolves.
The game also saw full-back Patterson leave the field with an injury with the defender also ruled out of the game against the Cherries. Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Dyche gave the latest on the duo.
“They won’t be fit,” he said, via the Liverpool Echo. “Well, we haven’t had Dom for two-thirds of my time here.
“We’ve still won games and still got points on the board, performed well. And Patto’s come into the side more latterly, done very well, but we lose him as well.”
The injury to Calvert-Lewin means that former City man Demarai Gray could again be drafted in to replace the striker in the Everton team. The winger was substituted onto the pitch when Calvert-Lewin was injured against Wolves, and provided the cross which eventually led to the Toffees’ 99th minute equaliser in the game.
Dyche confirmed that a late decision will be made on fellow full-back Vitalii Mykolenko, who has missed the last two games with a groin injury. But the Everton boss did confirm that midfielder Amadou Onana will be available amid reports surrounding his fitness.
Winger Andros Townsend is expected to miss the game, despite the Everton boss saying that he is making progress with his injury.
